"Kadima" Youth Center Network
Working to reduce gaps in Israeli society through education
General Information

The "Kadima" youth center network is a national network, operating five days a week, all year round, and providing daily care to over 1,200 male and female youth in grades 1-12.
The daily program at the "Kadima" network includes homework assistance, educational-values activities, enrichment classes, and lunch and dinner.
The secret to our success is the personal approach and building a personal plan for empowerment and advancement for each trainee, while providing a holistic response in all areas of life.
Together, we can provide the future generation with the tools to change tomorrow!
For our pupils, the youth centers are a second home where they stay every day, after school and until the evening. We navigate a long and complex process of adolescence, facing dangers and temptations that the environment creates, and we provide a safe place.
At Kadima, we recognize much unfairness. The children are smart, have potential, and are talented, but the environment doesn't always allow them to develop and grow. That's what we're here for - to reduce these gaps.
Reducing gaps is necessary in order to create true social equality and is expressed in the opportunities we can provide to young people in Israeli society.
The Method
Continuous participation of the child every day, all year round, and throughout all school years, in a framework that provides a safe space, a place for development, and a springboard for success.
The Team
Each youth home has a paid director (graduate with a bachelor's or master's degree in education or a related field); approximately 6 volunteers with a year of service or national service; and a mother/father of the home, residents of the neighborhood.
Politics
We strive for a humane education that reflects the consensus values of Israeli society, without any political affiliation.
Religion
We educate our students to recognize and respect tradition and heritage, but we are not a religious institution and do not engage in religious education or religious influence. We maintain kashrut.

The Pedagogical Program

At Kadima Youth Homes, a new pedagogical program based on PBL (Project-Based Learning) is being implemented, which is based on these principles:
Creating a multi-year educational process:
The educational process sees the child go through a process in the youth home from a young age to the beginning of adulthood.
Age-appropriate topic: The annual topics were chosen according to the age characteristics and needs of each age group. Each age group will go through an annual process on one organizing topic.
This allows for in-depth study of the topic, acquisition of skills around an organizing theme, and the ability to truly undergo an educational process and not just touch the tip of the iceberg of a topic.
The topics chosen are broad enough that they can be interesting throughout the year and be related to different dates.
The annual themes serve as preparation for each other: starting from the basics and developing from year to year.
The previous year lays the foundation for the current year. Within the framework of the annual theme, each age group has a PBL (Project-Based Learning) program related to the theme, and brings to light 21st-century skills, in accordance with age characteristics.
Moving Forward
The Mamshichim Kadima (Moving Forward) program is designed for graduates of the youth centers when they start their adult lives (18+). The program continues the spirit of the work done at the centers to minimize social gaps in Israel and help its pupils fulfil their dreams and potential. We provide a comprehensive solution for graduates in several main spheres: *Integrating in military services and future frameworks (Service Year, National Service, mechinot) * job and vocational development * post-secondary education studies and receiving guidance *Residence *Legal rights *Guiding young families The program is open to any graduate who wishes to take part and it is run by Lasova’s staff with the assistance of a team of volunteers.
